Sound Centre proudly presents...
AUSTRALIAN PIANO FAIR

Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre
Saturday 11th July and Sunday 12th July
10 am - 6pm

The Australian Piano Fair is on at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre on 11 & 12 July.

The annual event allows people from Perth and country areas to view a huge range of Pianos from leading manufacturers like Yamaha, Petrof, Steinway and Story & Clark. The latest and most popular models will be demonstrated and on display in one big exhibition area over the weekend.

Entry is free and the fair is suitable for all ages.

Doors open to the Public -Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm.

People considering upgrading their pianos or people looking for the best deal between now and Christmas should not miss the fair. This year everyone attending the fair has the chance to Win a $1000 door prize and you can also check out the latest model Maserati, Aston Martin and Jaguar thanks to Barbagallo.

Fair Co-coordinator Jarred Finnigan - Australian Piano dealer and accredited Yamaha and Petrof Piano tuner and technician said last years event boasted more than 45 different models and a diverse range of colours from the world’s best and trusted brands. It’s the best way to browse for and buy a piano and you are guaranteed to save money because you are cutting out the middleman.” Finnigan says. “The fair gives you the chance to purchase virtually factory direct which is a great opportunity in these tougher economic times.

Sam Trovato, Sound Centre Director and event host said this year promises to be bigger and better with entertainment from our very own WA piano students.

”Students from the Sound Centre School of Music, in conjunction with the students of our friend and accredited Piano teacher Julia Sykes, will perform at the fair.” Trovato said. “Julia teaches her famous Sykes method and both schools have a combined total of more than 1000 students and numbers are increasing. Music is proving to be recession proof!” says Trovato.

“Hosting the fair supports our credo of keeping the music alive! Plus it’s an excellent opportunity for our young up and coming pianists to play in an exhibition setting for the public on a fantastic sounding piano - like the $110,000 Petrof Concert Grand.”

Fender guitars arrive at the Sound Centre

Fender arrived in our store a few months ago and were eagerly greeted by men who were like little boys on Christmas morning! The pictures of the event are quite funny (see below).

As you can imagine,
Fender guitars have been flying off the wall and into the hands of their proud new owners since their arrival. Squire packs are popular with our School of Music students, and our Fender range of amplifers have been favoured by pros and beginners alike. We also have a magnificent range of Fender acoustic guitars for you to try before you buy. We are very proud to have Fender guitars shimmer on our walls, adn we look forward to being able to give you the best deal in town! Come in and see our resident Fender gurus Jonathon, Lester and Luke for friendly service and professional advice!

Next installment? We have big news - so stay tuned!
(If you have trouble staying in tune, we have a Korg tuner for only $50! rrp $60)

Oh, and I thought to keep things a little more interesting I'd leave quotes on my sign offs.
First quote this way comes. "
Gossip is a sort of smoke that comes from the dirty tobacco-pipes of those who diffuse it: it proves nothing but the bad taste of the smoker." ~George Eliot

Lah Lah Land, Layla and Dazastah

Just waiting for our website to be upgraded by the lovely people at Square 18 so what better time to do some blogging.

Gunna take you on a tour now and meet some more of our staff....

- Queen of Aussie Hip Hop, the wonderful Layla works in our Marketing and Promotions area. When not working here she's busy writing kick ass verses for her new album. If youre like us, we are soooo excited for what awaits!!!

- Dazastah (pictured right) is one of
the kings from renowned Perth hip hip band Downsyde, and is our resident Recording and Hi Tech guru. Downsyde's new album All City should not be missed! It is undoubtedly one of the best releases from Perth in recent months.

- Then theres yours truly.
There are no photos of me because Im always behind the camera not in front of it. I was born with a camera in one hand and a paint brush in the other... and some how, Ive ended up with a mouse. I'm the Sound Centre's web and graphic designer and in my spare time paint on Lah Lah Land, and photograph for Full Circle Photography doing portrait and band photography.

And on the next installment? The Brown Study Band!

Over and Out.

Please put your hands together for....

Greetings and Salutations fellow musicians,

Today I am introducing our most colourful team member, Jody, as pictured left. Jody has been with us for a few years now and his presence always gathers a crowd. Never short of a joke or two, Jody loves to entertain us with both tasteful and non tasteful banter.

Above all that, his magical piano playing abilities is what sets him apart. All the greats like 'Hold The Line', 'Khe San' and 'The Letter' always make an appearance during his shifts as he works his magic on us. Once, he even hypnotised the resident street dog, Trudy. Its taken months of therapy for Trudy to stop barking, "Love isnt always on time".

Over and out.
